Several of the DoorMaster LT profiles involve pocketing areas of the door. Originally the pockets start directly on the toolpath of the closest profile tool. However, depending on the tool being used, the pocket sometimes requires a small offset. User access to the offset setting for the pocket tooling has been made available for these cases.
There are 3 distinct types of 'pocketing':
Trench - Where there is a central raised area of the door surrounded by a profiled trench.
External (Frame) - Where the pocket is in the frame area and used to create a 'raised' profile.
In the case of a Trench or External pocket, the pocketed area has an inner and outer tool path. Both of which potentially need a separate offset setting.
Examples of offsets in the DoorMaster LT settings.
Note how there are two settings for the External (Frame) pocket:
If the outer profile uses a V tool then an offset is automatically calculated and a small extra offset can be applied...
If the outer profile does not use a V tool then an offset can be specified...
On door profiles, such as the Series 5 Style 5 shown, you can offset the toolpath on both sides of the inner pocket.
